Colour-coded bins teach kids through action

Sustainability isn't about grandiose, once-off actions. Real sustainability is about the little things. It's about doing them daily, making them into repeatable habits – habits like putting your waste in the right bin every day.

Sorting? It's child's play, really.

Kids don't read signs. The little ones can't, and the big ones can but can't be bothered. But a bright yellow bin looks like a bright yellow bin – it doesn't matter if you're five or fifteen. It just clicks.

Got Questions?

We’ve Got Answers.

Find everything you need to know about this collection - from materials and sizing to how each bin fits into your waste-sorting setup.

What size bin should I get for my school?

Most schools use a mix. The 25L bins work well in classrooms where space is tight, and the 60L bins are better for shared areas like canteens, corridors and playgrounds. If you’re not sure what setup suits your school, flick us an email at trashtalk@ecobin.com.au, and we’ll help you figure it out.

How long will they last?

A long time. Up to 10 years even. They’re made from polypropylene, which is tough enough to handle whatever students throw at them (literally). The desktop minis even come with a lifetime guarantee. We’ve had schools running the same bins for years without needing replacements.

Can I clean them?

Absolutely. A wipe down with a damp cloth does the job. Polypropylene is water and chemical resistant, so they can handle whatever ends up on them. Which, in a school, could be anything…
